Really?! I watched that panel and I liked it A LOT! Very respectful people and very meaningful discussion. What was your question, if you don’t mind me asking. :)

I have just realized

Tumblr is literally the sea

It’s huge

It’s blue

And the deeper you get, the weirder and scarier its inhabitants are

plus, I mean look at all the ships…

OH MY GOD YOU GOT ANOTHER POINT THERE

Saying good bye to Supernatural, the personal version. Under the cut. A thorough reorganisation of my blog’s content and update will follow, but feel free to unfollow now if Supernatural was your main interest in it. Thank you! :)

I am well aware that no one cares, but here’s a very personal list of reasons why i’m leaving the spn fandom:

  • the show itself was questionable to begin with
  • with time, the narrative has become very poor
  • Sam and Dean’s melodrama has become boring
  • as a character, Cas has been butchered
  • the show reinforces an old and unhealthy notion of family
  • its biggest and brightes feature, the concept of “free will” is terminated
  • the baiting (both due to the narrative and to official statements)
  • fan shaming in the actual show
  • ship shaming done by the actors
  • implied homophobia
  • implied mysoginy
  • mistreatment of actors
  • disregard for criticism from the fans
  • attempted censorship
  • blatant hypocrisy
  • fandom ship wars
  • fandom hate

But perhaps the most important reason i’m leaving this behind is that i refuse to support all of the things mentioned above. While i could tolerate them (more or less) for myself, staying in this fandom would actively make me part of everything i dislike and it would have the potential to encourage others to do so. If in the future i reblog or talk about spn again, it will be strictly accidental.

Alrighty!

I finished watching the SDCC Hall H Supernatural panel with my own eyes. (part 1 of 4 here: [x])

This is going to be a long ass post, which is why i’m putting it under the cut. But i need to say my peace because i’ve been waiting A LONG TIME for this to take place and i’ve waited in the depths of this wankfest of a HELLATUS.

I love [that] the fans use the show as a canvas onto which they paint the stories that mean the most to them

Can I totally chip in as a fan? The thing that I told you when you came on my podcast, and Misha too. That I feel like what’s great about Supernatural, despite the monsters and everything, is that this is a show about the interior relationships of men. The interior lives of men. And that’s very rare that those relationships are emotional, they’re complex, they’re dynamic, and uh, when you’re looking at a show that’s all about male female relationships that’s the focus, but to see these guys that are struggling with their filial relationships and their inter-masculine relationship is really unusual in TV and I think the show does that very, very well.
